My name is Francisca Concha-Ramirez and I am a Data Engineer currently at BeZero Carbon. I have been part of the Product and Marketing Insights team at Schroders and the Bidding and Attribution team at LYST. I have experience developing, deploying, and maintaining Machine Learning models to improve the efficiency of paid marketing investment strategies.
I have a PhD in Computational Astrophysics from Leiden University in The Netherlands, and a MSc degree in Computer Science and BSc degree in Astronomy from Universidad de Chile. During my doctorate I researched how the environment surrounding young circumstellar discs affects their potential for planet formation. You can read a summary of my research and my scientific publications. I have given several scientific talks to experts and the general public, and have a few contributed articles and press features.
I am the creator of Primer Fotón, an astronomy blog and podcast in Spanish. During my years in Leiden I was one of the organisers of Astronomy on Tap.
